She's here!
I couldn't help but check the tracking info this morning before going to work. It said the parcel had arrived at my local post office. So I hurried there with just the tracking number scribbled on a piece of paper. Having identified myself the cashier jumped at my name, as she said the parcel was just being loaded into the truck going out with today's post! But luckily she found it and I could leave with my dear first ball-jointed doll. I didn't even have to pay custom's fee!
There I was, thinking I had finally made up my mind to get Peakswoods' Lady Bee when...
...I googled this picture from a Taiwanese site. Ok, so the Narae is wearing a hideous wig and illfitting clothes, but you get the picture what she looks like. Next to her is a Lady Bee with white skin.
They look awful together!
Really, incredibly mismatched.
And I found other pictures of Lady Bee that just un-decided me. Instead, I have come to the conclusion that Peakswoods' Mori Moth is more suitable for what I have in mind. I'm selling off some of my Pullips at the moment, as well as a few other dolls (old Annette Himstedt club doll gifts etc.).
I'm ordering her from Jolly Plus, which seems to be a reputable seller. Also getting wigs from Leekeworld, two different ones. The first is a long black braided thing, the other is a short shag in wine.
I'm on a roll! Goodbye money!
I think it's a disease of some sort.
I have fallen in love.
With a doll.
Help.
This is bad. Mostly for my bank account, although I have managed to accumulate some money from selling my less played with dolls. There's even money left after buying some new dolls! But Delf Shiwoo is $355 and that's just for the nude unmade bald doll.
And it's a boy doll! I thought I didn't like boy dolls.
Woe me!
I mean, look at these perfectly wonderful girl dolls!
First there is the very different Domadoll Kkotmu (http://www.domadoll.com). It's also available as a kind of kentaur, which I don't find all that appealing.
Then there is the Leekeworld Chouette. In the full version it is actually also a boy doll, but with a very feminine look. But it's possible to buy the head and the body separately, making your own doll. I like the idea of being able to customize as much as possible, so that the doll becomes an "individual being". I think that's what bothers me a little with Blythes and Pullips. They all look the same and the most you can do is change their hair or eyes, unless you're a really skilled customizer.
The last one here is a Peakswoods Lady Bee. My T likes her the best. (He doesn't like boy dolls for some odd reason!) She's pretty cool too, but I'm having trouble finding a good wig for her.
Um, well, I don't know.
Don't get me wrong, I really love my Blythes! They're great for taking on trips and fun to photograph. But those ball-jointed dolls are calling me with their sweet, seductive faces.
